About the role:
We are currently seeking experienced Wagon Maintainers for FIFO opportunities in the Pilbara region. This position offers a family-friendly 7 Days / 7 Nights / 14 Days Off roster and involves workshop and field-based maintenance on ore wagons and rail assets within a safety-driven environment.
Immediate starts are available for motivated and trade-qualified candidates with experience in rail, mining, or heavy industrial maintenance.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Carry out preventative, corrective, and reactive wagon maintenance
- Respond to in-field breakdowns, derailments, collision damage, and recovery works
- Perform wagon inspections, diagnostics, and defect rectification
- Conduct structural repairs, fabrication, and component replacements
- Complete welding, cutting, and heating tasks as required
- Operate mobile plant, lifting equipment, and maintenance vehicles safely
- Move wagons within maintenance areas using fixed and mobile equipment
- Read and interpret technical drawings and repair documentation
- Maintain safe work practices and high housekeeping standards at all times
Skills & Experience Required
- Previous experience in wagon maintenance or rail maintenance
- Australian Recognised Boilermaker Trade Certificate
- Experience within mining, rail, heavy industry, or shutdown environments
- Strong welding and fabrication capabilities
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment
- Commitment to workplace safety and compliance
- Ability to pass pre-employment medical and Drug & Alcohol screening
